Travel
through Suffolk in the South-East of England and the rural scenes have a
familiar feel to them. This is because Suffolk has been immortalized by artists over the centuries. John Constable, to name but one, captured the Suffolk landscape in his paintings,
one of his most famous being the 'Haywain' in 1821.
Today
Suffolk is as creative as it was then, and has spawned many writers,
poets, musicians and artists. Everywhere you turn you find yourself inspired
by the beauty of the varied landscape--whether coastal or inland. This
landscape has proved so vital, in fact, that some who have come for a day,
have ended up staying a lifetime. |
